We had endured the Iranian hostage situation, a severe slump in our economy, the Afghanistan crisis, and the three mile island disaster among other impacts to our psyche. This hockey win may have seemed insignificant to some but in reality it came at a crucial time. It served to lift our spirits from one of the lowest valleys they had ever descended.

Are Baseball Players Paid More Than They are Worth?

This paper evaluates the question of a player’s worth from the perspective that this is a capitalist country and that baseball is big business and it pays its players what it is assumed they are worth. In other words baseball salaries are a product of supply and demand.
