James E. and Miriam Ferguson: Governors of Texas

of the State of Texas from January 19, 1915 to August 25, 1917.
His wife, Miriam Amanda Ferguson, served two terms as the
governor of the State of Texas, from January 20, 1925 to January
17, 1927 and January 17, 1933 to January 15, 1935. Both
Ferguson's held records of 'firsts': James Ferguson was the only
Texas governor to ever be impeached, and his wife, Miriam, or
"Ma" Ferguson was the first woman to be elected state governor.
